In exchange, everyone on this team gets outsized ownership over problems that actually matter. We’re looking for people who want to do their career-defining work here: comfortable with ambiguity, allergic to shortcuts, and motivated by the actual stakes of wildfire rather than the size of a market.

Founding Engineer — hands-on prototyping & testing

The one role that’s real right now: someone who builds and tests physical prototypes themselves, not just specs them. Replace with the actual opening, or remove this section if nothing’s live yet.
Who we’ll be looking for next
Materials Scientist / Fire Engineering Lead
Once the core prototype is proven, we’ll need someone to own the science full-time rather than as a part-time collaborator.
Partnerships Lead — Builders & Insurers
Once we’re ready for pilots, we’ll need someone dedicated to the builder and insurer relationships that get this into real homes.
How we get expertise today
Fire testing, codes guidance, and a few other specialized pieces come from outside labs, consultants, and advisors right now rather than full-time hires — that’s deliberate, not a gap. We’d rather pay for expert time when we need it than carry salaries before there’s a clear, immediate reason to.
